  1. Read your Blog, sounds like you’ve hit all the spots in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area. The Carrier Furnace site is only a few miles from where we live. It was quite interesting aound here when all the mills were operating to full capacity.. I got a picture of Young American when they briefly stopped for a chat with us in Bunola due to tie ups @ the lock. Is there some way I can down load it? Hope you get to see the “Mothman” statue in Point Pleasant…..

  2. Carolyn Ann,Lazy Dolphin & Young America. Hola from Bunola. Friends of ours Bill (Capt. Willie on the Ducky Boats of Pgh) & his wife Cheryl sent me a link to your blog and cruising club. Welcome to Pittsburgh and we hope to see you in Bunola, mm27.5, Monongahela River @ the Carousel Marina (RDB) If you think you might want to stay over, here’s the Marina’s # 412-384-4109 ask for Gary. Someone is usually there Mon-Fri from around 2pm till 10pm and Sat. & Sunday from 11am -11pm. Full Service Marina with showers, restaurant, picnic grounds and transient docks. Look for a Silverton Motor Yacht named “Manana” owners: Chuck and Sandy or a Trojan Yacht named “C” Mon Inn owners: Terry and Meg or a Silverton Sedan Cruiser named “Grand Illusions” that’s our boat, Lynn & Dave… We’re a group of boaters who call ourselves the “Bunola Boaters” and just enjoy boating. Once you get passed the Steel Mills, our end of the river is pretty and keeps getting better as you travel up river through the locks. Have an enjoyable trip and maybe we’ll see you on the river.
